Why do foliar analytics and what they consist of

The foliar analytics offer us a photograph of the state of the crop at a certain moment and allows us to efficiently plan the management of the crop, in order to optimize the use of inputs and increase the quality of the harvest.

With foliar analysis, we can make a nutritional diagnosis and therefore issue a technical report of the management solutions necessary to complete the growing cycle successfully.

It will also make it possible to analyze the presence of polluting residues and, if so, reduce them as much as possible.

Instructions for collecting foliar samples

Where do I collect the sample?

Selection of homogeneous plots (sampling units). You must select representative parcels of the farm or area that you want to characterize. (crop, age, variety, soil, irrigation …). For each plot a sample will be collected, if there is an area differentiated from the rest, do not add that sample.

How do I collect the sample?

Perfectly developed, undamaged leaves of the shoot of the year and the center of the stem (3rd-4th pair of leaves). Take 100/200 sample sheets.

Zig-zag route, avoiding trees next to other plots. Take 8 complete leaves from each cardinal point of the tree, at the height of the operator’s eyes and from shoots taken at random.

Sample storage

Conservation in paper bags and refrigerator (4-5 ° C). Fill out Request for Analysis. Identify each sample bag:

  • Sender’s name
  • Direction
  • Identification of the sample
  • Place, town, province
  • Pick up date
