Development of new natural herbicides based on active ingredients isolated from the olive tree<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

HERBICOL is a BIOPHARMA RESEARCH SA project <\/strong>for the development of new natural herbicides based on active ingredients isolated from olive groves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Investment in R&D&I<\/strong> is boosting the natural herbicide sector with innovations such as the synthesis of a biodegradable compound with herbicidal capacity. A natural herbicide is developed with active ingredients that come from nature, present in different species of plants and fruits. Thus, they become true natural herbicides that help us to control weeds in localised areas, and allow us to reduce the use of total herbicides or glyphosate for those occasions when it is really necessary to use such a strong and abrasive product. That is why BIOPHARMA RESEARCH SA<\/strong> with the collaboration of the Instituto de la Grasa \/ CSIC<\/strong>, through CDTI funding thanks to the Ministry of Science and Innovation of the Government of Spain<\/strong>. A new herbicide is being developed capable of controlling unwanted weeds in crops, based on plant extracts from olive groves, with simultaneous bioactivating effects on the growth of crops such as cereals and fruit and vegetables, which can be used in both conventional and organic crops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This project has been co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)<\/strong> with the aim of promoting technological development, innovation and quality research. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
