<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Development of new agricultural biostimulants, based on the combination of microorganisms and plant extracts, against water stress in cereal and leguminous crops</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Water stress</strong> significantly affects crop growth and yields. This stress is expected to become more and more intense due to global <strong>climate change</strong>. Water stress affects most of the vital functions of crops, so that there is practically no physiological process that is not affected by it, which is why there is a need for the <strong>development of a new biostimulant product to combat oxidative stress</strong> caused by drought, based on extracts from microorganisms and agricultural by-products that will boost the productivity of <strong>crops</strong> such as cereals and leguminous plants, protecting them from the effects of water stress. <strong>and legumes</strong>, <strong>protecting them from abiotic stress</strong> due to lack of water and increasing the vigour of the plants in each phenological cycle to prevent diseases and increase the profitability of the crop.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Development of novel mycoinsecticides from potential fungal strains to control insect pests of horticultural crops</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>THAINATUR is a project of BIOPHARMA RESEARCH SA </strong>for the development of new mycoinsecticides from fungal strains with potential to control insect pests of hotcultural crops. </p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Fungi</strong> are the most important group of pathogens in Spain and in the world. In spite of this, all aspects involving these organisms are not negative, as many of them have been successfully applied to fight diseases caused even by species of the same kingdom. Their future as <strong>biological control agents</strong> is promising, although they have certain advantages and disadvantages compared to the traditional way of combating diseases caused by the various pathogens, chemicals. As antagonists they exert different mechanisms of action such as <strong>antibiosis</strong>, competition for different biotic and abiotic factors, they can act as mycoparasites, induce resistance in plants and other strategies. </p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This is why <strong>BIOPHARMA RESEARCH</strong> together with <strong>MAE FAH LUANG UNIVERSITY</strong>, saw the need to research fungal isolates to develop new organic bioinsecticides based on the formulation of beneficial fungal extracts that can be made available to farmers to protect crops from insect pests while ensuring the agri-food safety requirements set by the European authorities, where priority is given to the use of alternative products, including chemical plant protection products.</p>
